Job Overview
The Senior Civil Engineer – Quantity Surveying will oversee cost estimation, BOQ preparation, budget monitoring, contract administration, and claims management for major construction and infrastructure projects. The role focuses on cost control, financial reporting, contractual compliance, and coordination with project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
Monitor project budgets, forecasts, expenditures, and cost variances.
Identify financial and contractual risks and recommend mitigation measures.
Evaluate and negotiate contracts with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
Prepare financial reports, cost forecasts, and variance analyses.
Manage claims, variations, and contractual negotiations.
Coordinate with design, engineering, and project management teams to validate specifications and costs.
Ensure compliance with Egyptian building codes, labor laws, and applicable regulations.
Use AutoCAD Civil 3D, Primavera P6, and CostX for project planning and cost management.
Mentor junior quantity surveyors and coordinate with clients, consultants, and relevant authorities.
Incorporate sustainability standards, including LEED and Estidama, into cost planning where applicable.
Academic Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Preferred: Master’s degree in Construction Management or a related discipline.
Preferred: MRICS certification.
Experience
Minimum 8 years of experience in quantity surveying or construction cost management.
Experience in major infrastructure projects or government-led developments is preferred.
Technical / Functional Competencies
AutoCAD Civil 3D, Primavera P6, and CostX.
BOQ preparation and cost estimation.
Budget monitoring, cost forecasting, and variance analysis.
Contract administration and claims management.
Risk assessment and cost control.
FIDIC contracts and international construction standards.
Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
Familiarity with LEED or Estidama standards is an advantage.
